Lions Club (mock pizza business) Program For Family Members

A favorite project of families and kids is the Puppy Leader Dog Program. Since 2007, our Lions Club has supported the following Leader Dogs, now paired with blind people paired though the Leader Dog School in Rochester, MI...Cy, Trice, Niki, Phoenix, Magic, Ace, Angel, Astro and Alan. Boys & Girls Club kids name our puppies who receive their first year of training by inmates at the Ft. Dodge Correctional Center.

Major Goal For Children:

  1. Using the “partners in learning” educational real world experiences, develop leadership in community service and instill a conservation ethic.
  2. Form a “family lions club” to coordinate the children’s program.
  3. In the newly formed Family Lions Club, in 2016, plan a trip to the Leader Dog School in Rochester

Ames Breakfast Club (see www.pizz-a-thon.com ) is seeking volunteers to assist in a program aimed at instilling a service ethic in our future leaders with a “an active learning” Ag/Conservation literacy program. Volunteers are needed in recruiting, social networking, membership, phoning, speaking, fund raising, donor relations, emailing, events planning, teaching, news writing, photography, facilitating activities related to a variety of fun enrichment activities for kids that focus on subjects in school, working in collaboration with Lions members. Kids experiment and discover the value of soil and water conservation practices. They trace the ingredients of their newly created pizzas, through ag/food industry careers, livestock, crops and finally (back to the source) into the soil. The newly created pizzas and the teams' marketing reports are judged and awards presented.
